Yes. The Philip is designed to blend subtly into a variety of interior styles. Thanks to the openwork armrests, you can see partly through the chair: it doesn’t demand all the attention, and your living room looks more spacious.
The base helps define the look. Do you have lots of warm materials or hardwood floors? Then Signature, with its combination of wood and aluminum, brings that warmth back to the sofa. Do you have a minimalist or industrial interior with black or metallic accents? Then the sleek Cross base fits in seamlessly.

What's under the Philip's upholstery?
The interior of the Stressless® Philip is fully tailored to its deep wingback curve:
- A steel frame shaped like a wing that widens at the top and curves more deeply, allowing the foam to form a natural cocoon around the head and neck.
- Cold-molded foam around the frame, which compresses exactly where your weight requires it to.
- A generous, soft top layer of polyester fibers in the seat and backrest for that instantly inviting feel.
- Wavy steel flex springs under the seat absorb pressure, ensuring that the armchair won't sag even after years of heavy use.
Leather—from rugged Batick to exclusive Noblesse—is easy to care for and long-lasting; fabric often feels warmer and offers a wider range of colors and textures. The wooden parts are made of beech wood with FSC® or PEFC certification. A Stressless® care kit is available for both leather and fabric.

What is the difference between the Signature and Cross models?
The only difference is in the base. Signature features a metal base on a round wooden foot, adding warmth to the chair; Cross features a sleek aluminum cross base that complements a minimalist or industrial interior. Both models include BalanceAdapt™, the Plus™ system, and the Glide-system™, and cost the same. The base is available in matte black or polished metal, and the wood comes in eight colors.
What size Philip do I need—M or L?
The Stressless® Philip is available in sizes M and L. Size M is 82 cm wide with a seat height of 45 cm and a total height of 112 cm; size L is 91 cm wide with a seat height of 46 cm and a total height of 116 cm. A seat that’s too low or too deep can put even more pressure on your lower back. During your test sit, we’ll work with you to determine which size best suits your height and leg length.
Should I choose leather or fabric?
Both are possible. Leather looks luxurious, is easy to maintain, and lasts a long time; fabric often feels warmer and offers a wider range of colors and textures. In our showroom, you can feel all the leather and fabric samples, and you can even take samples home to see how they look in your own home.
Where is the Stressless® Philip made?
The Stressless® Philip is manufactured in Norway by Ekornes, which has been producing Stressless recliners since 1971. The upholstery and finishing touches—such as stretching the leather and stitching the piping—are still done by hand by Norwegian craftsmen.
Why does delivery of a Stressless® Philip take about 8 weeks?
Because every Philip is custom-made as soon as we receive your order. You choose the size, base, upholstery, and finish yourself, so your sofa is one-of-a-kind. The upholstery is done by hand in Norway, followed by a quality check and consolidated shipping to Belgium. We’ll then schedule your free delivery with you.
How much does a Stressless® Philip cost?
Online, you can purchase the Stressless Store Special Offer: starting at €2,493 (sofa without ottoman in fabric group 1) and starting at €2,933 with an ottoman, up to €4,544 in Noblesse leather with an ottoman—all 10% below the suggested retail price. The Signature and Cross models are priced the same. Delivery is free in Belgium and the Netherlands.
What warranty do I get with a Stressless® Philip?
You receive a 10-year manufacturer’s warranty on the internal mechanism: the metal frame, the springs, and the Plus™ and BalanceAdapt™ systems. In addition, the 2-year statutory warranty applies, which also covers the upholstery and stitching in the event of hidden manufacturing defects.
