Which Stressless chair is the best fit for me?
That depends on three things: your body type (size S, M, or L), how you relax (reading upright or reclining far back), and your interior (base, wood or metal color, and upholstery). Since size and sitting position determine comfort, our paramedically trained advisors will measure these factors together with you. Check out all the models first →
How do I care for my leather Stressless?
Clean your leather two to four times a year with the official Stressless Leather Cleaner, and then condition it with Leather Protection. In between cleanings, a weekly wipe-down with a wrung-out chamois cloth is sufficient. The exact frequency depends on how often you use the chair and whether it is exposed to direct sunlight.
Why is an ergonomic recliner better for your back?
On average, we sit for 8.3 hours a day, and sitting still in the same position for long periods of time strains the back, slows blood circulation, and causes muscles to stiffen. The Stressless motion mechanism moves with every change in posture instead of locking you in place. This benefit is most effective when the chair is tailored precisely to your body.
Should I choose leather or fabric?
Leather looks luxurious, is easy to maintain, and lasts a long time. Fabric feels warmer and offers more choices in color and texture. You can really feel the difference when you touch both—all the samples are displayed side by side in the showroom.
What is the delivery time for a Stressless?
Every Stressless is custom-made for you in Norway. Therefore, please allow about 8 weeks for delivery. Delivery is free in Belgium and the Netherlands.
Can I have my Stressless repaired?
Yes. Our in-house workshop repairs and maintains Stressless chairs, including older models. Whether it’s the mechanism, the springs, the upholstery, or a worn-out part, repairing is often more cost-effective and sustainable than replacing. Learn more about repairs →
How often is a new article published?

Can I get advice without coming in?
Absolutely. Feel free to call or email us—our advisors are happy to help you choose the right model, size, and upholstery, even remotely. If you're unsure about the size, we still recommend visiting us in person: that's the only thing you can't measure online.
