Stressless® Stella: Modular Sofa with BalanceAdapt™

The Stressless® Stella is a modular sofa from Stressless. It is available as a straight sofa and in 20 corner and Long Seat configurations, either as the Stella with metal legs or as the Stella Wood with wooden armrests and legs. The Stella features BalanceAdapt™, which allows the seat to move subtly in response to your movements.

BalanceAdapt™ allows the Stella's seat to gently sway with your movements: whether you lean back, lean forward, or pull your feet up, the seat adjusts accordingly. If you prefer a fixed seat, you can lock the feature.

Yes. You can lock BalanceAdapt™ so that the Stella feels like a fixed bench. If you want the motion back, just turn the feature back on.

No. In Stella configurations with a Long Seat, the Long Seat itself does not have BalanceAdapt™; the other seats do.

The Stella is available in 26 configurations. There are 6 straight models: 1-seater with side panels, 1.25-seater with side panels, 2-seater, 2.5-seater, 3-seater, and 3.5-seater. In addition, there are 20 corner and Long Seat combinations. If you’re looking for something else, please ask about it in our stores.

Yes. For Long Seat configurations and asymmetrical corner sofas, you choose left or right, always as viewed from the front of the sofa. For symmetrical corner sofas (C22 and C2.5-2.5), no side selection is necessary.

The S1 is 58 cm high and 23 cm wide. The S2 is 64 cm high and 17 cm wide. The wooden SW1 armrest from Stella Wood is 58 cm high and 20 cm wide. As a result, the total width also varies: a two-seater is 197 cm with the S1, 185 cm with the S2, and 191 cm with the Stella Wood version.

Stella Wood features a wooden SW1 armrest and beech legs in one of 8 wood finishes. The Stella comes with an S1 or S2 armrest and steel legs in matte black or chrome. Both are priced the same. Metal legs are not available for the Stella Wood.

The Stella is 78 cm high and 93 cm deep, with a seat height of 44 cm and a seat depth of 55 cm. With the headrest, it is 98 cm high. A Long Seat is 165 cm deep. The width depends on the configuration and the armrest.

For BalanceAdapt™, the Stella needs space to move: leave 11 cm of clearance behind the seat, or 19 cm if a headrest is installed.

You can add one headrest per seat cushion. The Type M headrest is compatible with the 1-seater, 2-seater, 3-seater, the corner element, and the Long Seat M (suggested retail price €249 to €369, depending on the upholstery). Type L is compatible with the 1.25-seater, 2.5-seater, 3.5-seater, and the Long Seat L (€289 to €409). The configurator automatically selects the correct type.

Fabric Group 1 (Daisy, Aster, Magnolia, Bloom, and Lilly), Fabric Group 2 (Holly, Azalea, Marigold, and Calido), Dinamica and Batick, and the leathers Paloma, Velaro, and Noblesse. Paloma and Velaro are pigmented leathers; Noblesse is semi-aniline leather. Together, they comprise 124 colors.

The price depends on the configuration, the upholstery, and the options. A 2-seater has a suggested retail price starting at €3,489 in fabric group 1; during the big Stressless promotion (through November 22, 2026), you pay as low as €2,966 online. A C2.5-3 corner sofa has a suggested retail price starting at €9,208. In the configurator, you can immediately see the price of your complete configuration.

Yes. You can customize your Stella in the configurator and order it directly from our online store. Shipping is free in Belgium and the Netherlands, with a delivery time of 8 to 12 weeks. Because every Stella is custom-made, we do not accept returns on custom orders.
