Stressless® Ella: Modular Sofa with BalanceAdapt™

The Stressless® Ella is a modular sofa from Stressless, featuring a unique seat and cushions with double stitching. In Belgium, it is available exclusively at Stressless Store and comes in a straight sofa configuration as well as 20 corner and Long Seat configurations—either as the Ella with metal legs or as the Ella Wood with wooden armrests and legs. The Ella features BalanceAdapt™, which allows the seat to move subtly in response to your movements.

The Ella and Stella have the same modular design, dimensions, 26 configurations, BalanceAdapt™, and prices. The difference lies in the design: the Ella has its own seat and cushions with double stitching and uses E1, E2, and EW1 armrests instead of the Stella’s S1, S2, and SW1 armrests.

In Belgium, the Ella is available exclusively at Stressless Store. You can try it out and order it at our stores in Leuven and Antwerp, or customize and order it online.

The Ella's seat and cushions feature double stitching. This gives the Ella a different, more distinctive look than the Stella.

No. The Ella and Stella have exactly the same prices. The final price for both models depends on the selected configuration, upholstery, and options.

BalanceAdapt™ allows the Ella's seat to gently sway with your movements: whether you lean back, lean forward, or pull your feet up, the seat adjusts accordingly. If you prefer a fixed seat, you can lock the feature.

Yes. You can lock BalanceAdapt™ so that the Ella feels like a fixed bench. If you want the motion back, just turn the feature back on.

No. In Ella configurations with a Long Seat, the Long Seat itself does not have BalanceAdapt™; the other seats do.

The Ella is available in 26 configurations. There are 6 straight models: 1-seater with side panels, 1.25-seater with side panels, 2-seater, 2.5-seater, 3-seater, and 3.5-seater. In addition, there are 20 corner and Long Seat combinations. If you’re looking for something else, please ask about it in our stores.

Yes. For Long Seat configurations and asymmetrical corner sofas, you choose left or right, always as viewed from the front of the sofa. For symmetrical corner sofas (C22 and C2.5-2.5), no side selection is necessary.

The E1 is 58 cm high and 23 cm wide. The E2 is 64 cm high and 17 cm wide. The wooden EW1 armrest from Ella Wood is 58 cm high and 20 cm wide. As a result, the total width also varies: a two-seater is 197 cm with the E1, 185 cm with the E2, and 191 cm with the Ella Wood model.

Ella Wood features a wooden EW1 armrest and beech legs in one of 8 wood finishes. The Ella comes with an E1 or E2 armrest and steel legs in matte black or chrome. Both are priced the same. Metal legs are not available for the Ella Wood.

The Ella is 78 cm high and 93 cm deep, with a seat height of 44 cm and a seat depth of 55 cm. With the headrest, it is 98 cm high. A Long Seat is 165 cm deep. The width depends on the configuration and the armrest.

For BalanceAdapt™, the Ella needs space to move: leave 11 cm of clearance behind the seat, or 19 cm if a headrest is installed.

You can add one headrest per seat cushion. The Type M headrest is compatible with the 1-seater, 2-seater, 3-seater, the corner element, and the Long Seat M (suggested retail price €249 to €369, depending on the upholstery). Type L is compatible with the 1.25-seater, 2.5-seater, 3.5-seater, and the Long Seat L (€289 to €409). The configurator automatically selects the correct type.

Fabric Group 1 (Daisy, Aster, Magnolia, Bloom, and Lilly), Fabric Group 2 (Holly, Azalea, Marigold, and Calido), Dinamica and Batick, and the leathers Paloma, Velaro, and Noblesse. Paloma and Velaro are pigmented leathers; Noblesse is semi-aniline leather. Together, they comprise 124 colors.

The price depends on the configuration, the upholstery, and the options. A 2-seater has a suggested retail price starting at €3,489 in fabric group 1; during the big Stressless promotion (through November 22, 2026), you pay as low as €2,966 online. A C2.5-3 corner sofa has a suggested retail price starting at €9,208. In the configurator, you can immediately see the price of your complete configuration.

Yes. You can customize your Ella in the configurator and order it directly from our online store. Shipping is free in Belgium and the Netherlands, with a delivery time of 8 to 12 weeks. Because every Ella is custom-made, we do not accept returns on custom orders.

At our stores in Leuven (Tervuursevest 30) and Antwerp (Boomsesteenweg 18, Wilrijk). These are the only two official Stressless stores in the Benelux, carrying the full Stressless lineup. You can try out the chairs for free and feel all the fabric and leather samples.
