Stressless® Helsinki: the new electric recliner, debuting in Antwerp
The Stressless® Helsinki is the first recliner on the new Stressless® Power platform: an electric recliner featuring a lightweight aluminum shell, a knitted comfort layer, and the Heart Balance position, in which your feet rest at heart level. Starting in December, it will be available exclusively at the Stressless Store in Antwerp —even before it goes on sale elsewhere.

A first for Belgium: the Helsinki will be in Antwerp starting in December
Stressless Store Leuven and Antwerp are the only official Stressless brand stores in Belgium. Thanks to our direct relationship with the Norwegian manufacturer Ekornes, our Antwerp store will be the first to stock the Stressless® Helsinki. You’ll be able to come in and try it out starting in December, even before the model is available elsewhere. It’s not for sale yet: prices and delivery times will be announced as soon as Stressless releases them.

The Helsinki comes in one size, with a cross-base and a built-in battery. You choose the upholstery—53 leather colors and 105 fabric colors—the wood color of the armrests and base, and the color of the legs. The photo updates to reflect your selections.

Feet at heart level
With the push of a button, the motor moves you into the Heart Balance position: your feet are raised to heart level. According to Stressless, this position promotes blood circulation and relieves pressure on the body. It feels like floating.
02 · BalanceAdapt™
A tilt that lets you feel your weight
The BalanceAdapt™ system is hidden inside the aluminum shell. It responds to your body weight and provides a deeper recline with a gentle, floating sensation. The controls are discreetly located in the armrest.
03 · Designed for a circular economy
Built to last
Each component can be disassembled, making the chair easy to repair, refurbish, or recycle. The shell is made of 90% recycled aluminum, and the wood is FSC®-certified.

What is the Stressless Helsinki?
The Stressless® Helsinki is a new electric recliner from the Norwegian company Stressless (Ekornes). It is the first chair built on the new Stressless® Power platform, featuring an aluminum shell, a knitted comfort layer without metal springs, the BalanceAdapt™ reclining system, and the Heart Balance position, in which your feet rest at heart level.
Where can I see and try out the Stressless Helsinki in Belgium?
Starting in December 2026, the Helsinki will be available exclusively at the Stressless Store in Antwerp, located at Boomsesteenweg 18 in Wilrijk. This makes the Stressless Store the first place in Belgium where you can see and try out the model, even before it becomes available elsewhere on the market.
Is the Stressless Helsinki available for purchase yet, and how much does it cost?
Not yet. The prices haven't been released yet. You can, however, already customize the Helsinki online and add your selection to our pre-order list; we'll be the first to let you know how much your configuration costs and when you can place your order.
Is the Stressless Helsinki an electric chair?
Yes. The Helsinki is a Power recliner: you can adjust it using a motor controlled by the buttons in the armrest. It has a battery, so you don't necessarily need a power outlet next to the chair.
What is the Heart Balance mode?
In Heart Balance mode, the chair positions you so that your feet are at heart level. According to Stressless, this natural posture promotes blood circulation, relieves pressure on the body, and creates a gentle, floating sensation.
What are the dimensions of the Stressless Helsinki?
The Helsinki comes in one size: 90 cm wide, 92 cm deep, and 108 cm high, with a seat height of 46 cm and a seat depth of 54 cm. When fully extended, it is 160 cm deep.
What types of finishes and wood colors are available?
You can choose from 53 leather colors in the Batick, Paloma, Velaro, and Noblesse collections, or from 105 fabric colors across fifteen collections. The arm panels and base are available in beech (eight shades) or oak (natural, whitewash, or black); the legs come in polished metal or matte black.
Has the Stressless Helsinki won a design award?
The Helsinki is based on the Stressless® Air concept, which won the Red Dot Award: Design Concept 2026.
Is the Stressless Helsinki durable?
It is designed with a circular approach: every component can be disassembled for repair, renewal, or recycling. The shell is made of 90% recycled aluminum, the knitted layer is produced without generating waste, and the wood is FSC®-certified (FSC® C163127).
