Size M or L
The only one available in two sizes
Size M is 6 cm narrower and 6 cm shallower than size L. If you’re shorter, your feet will reach the floor more easily and you’ll feel the backrest where you need it. Size M is available without armrests; size L is available with or without armrests.

The Laurel comes in 6 versions, all with a seat height of 48 cm. Size M is 44 to 50 cm wide and 56 to 57 cm deep; size L is 50 to 58 cm wide and 62 to 63 cm deep. A high back (105 cm) provides greater back support during long, leisurely meals; a low back (92 cm) keeps the view unobstructed. Armrests are available only in size L.

Which chassis should you choose for your Laurel?
Each Laurel model is compatible with five different bases. The base determines the chair’s appearance, price, and whether it can swivel. Swiveling is only possible with the D350 base; the D200 and D400 are the most affordable.

Why choose a swivel Laurel chair for the dining table?
You don't have to slide the chair back to sit down or get up, and you can easily turn to face the person sitting next to you. Plus, a swivel chair lets you move around more, so you stay comfortable longer. This is especially handy in a smaller dining area.
Does the Laurel roll back on its own?
By default, the D350 base rotates freely. If you choose the auto-return option, the chair will always rotate neatly back toward the table after you stand up. That option costs €63 per chair.
Wood or metal?
Wood (D100, D200) has a warm look and goes well with a wooden table. Metal (D300, D400) has a lighter appearance and goes well with a table that has a metal base. D300 costs the same as D100, and D400 costs the same as D200.

How many Laurel chairs fit around your table?
The Laurel is the best choice if you want to fit a lot of chairs around a single table. In size M, it’s only 44 cm wide on a D200 base. Leave some space between each chair and allow 30 to 40 cm behind each chair so you can stand up comfortably. How much does a Stressless Laurel dining chair cost?
A Stressless Laurel starts at €379 per chair at the Stressless Store for size M with a low back in fabric on a D200 or D400 base. Size L starts at €499. With a high back, armrests, Velaro leather, and the swiveling D350 base, the price goes up to €886. All prices include VAT, and delivery in Belgium and the Netherlands is free.
What is the difference between the Laurel in size M and size L?
Size M is 6 cm narrower and 6 cm shallower than size L: 44 to 50 cm wide and 56 to 57 cm deep, compared to 50 to 58 cm wide and 62 to 63 cm deep. Size M is suitable for smaller frames and compact dining rooms, and is available only without armrests. If you want armrests, choose size L.
What are the dimensions of the Stressless Laurel?
The Stressless Laurel always has a seat height of 48 cm. With a high back, it is 105 cm tall; with a low back, it is 92 cm tall. In size M, it is 44 to 50 cm wide and 56 to 57 cm deep; in size L, it is 50 to 57 cm wide without armrests, 58 cm with armrests, and 62 to 63 cm deep.
Will Laurel chairs with armrests fit under my table?
It will fit under a standard dining table that is 74 to 75 cm high. The armrests on a Stressless dining chair are no more than 69 to 70 cm high, so they slide under the tabletop. Be careful with built-in desks or work tables: they’re often only 70 cm high. With armrests, the Laurel is 58 cm wide.
What is the difference between the Stressless Laurel and the Mint?
The Laurel is sleeker and is the only Stressless dining chair available in size M. In size L, it has the same dimensions and prices as the Mint. The difference lies in the shape: the Laurel has a slim, sleek back, while the Mint has an enveloping back with a horizontal stitching line.
Why is the Laurel in size M such a great deal?
The Laurel in size M is available at Stressless’s “Start Price,” a manufacturer promotion running through December 31, 2026. As a result, you’ll pay as low as €379 per chair for size M. For size L, our regular online price applies—10% below the suggested retail price—starting at €499.
Does the Stressless Laurel swivel?
Yes, the Stressless Laurel rotates 360 degrees on the D350 base. It rotates freely as standard; with the auto-return option, the chair automatically rotates back toward the table after you stand up. That option costs €63 per chair. The other bases—D100, D200, D300, and D400—do not rotate.
Can I order the Stressless Laurel online?
Yes. In the configurator on this page, you can choose the model, base, upholstery, color, and number of chairs, and place your order online right away. Each chair is made for you in Norway, with a delivery time of 8 to 10 weeks. If you want chairs in different colors, please configure them one by one.
What kind of upholstery should I choose for a Laurel if I have children?
Our consultants recommend leather for households with children or grandchildren, particularly Paloma or Velaro. Both are durable and easy to clean with a damp cloth, provided you treat the leather at least twice a year with a Stressless care kit. If you have cats or dogs, keep in mind that leather is more susceptible to scratches.
How long is the warranty on a Stressless Laurel?
You receive a 2-year manufacturer’s warranty. In addition, Stressless offers a 10-year warranty on the chair’s mechanism, the Balance&Glide™ system, and the metal frame. Damage to leather, fabric, or wood is not covered. Repairs are performed by our own team.
Can I try out the Stressless Laurel in Leuven or Antwerp?
Yes, at the Stressless Store in Leuven and the Stressless Store in Antwerp, you can try out the Stressless dining chairs at the table, with or without an appointment. If you’d like to be sure to see a specific model or color of the Laurel, please call or email us in advance. You’re welcome to take leather and fabric samples home with you.
Is the Stressless Laurel also available as an office chair?
Yes. The Laurel is also available as a home office chair with a star-shaped base and five casters, starting at €638. This way, you’ll enjoy the same adaptive seating comfort at your desk as you do at the dining table. For eight hours a day of intensive computer work, we recommend a full-featured ergonomic office chair.
