Stressless® Vanilla Dining Chair: modern, with plenty of room to move

A Stressless Vanilla is priced starting at €499 per chair at the Stressless Store, for a low-back model without armrests, upholstered in fabric, on a D200 or D400 base. With a high back, armrests, Velaro leather, and the swiveling D350 base, the price rises to €886. All prices include VAT, and delivery in Belgium and the Netherlands is free.

The Vanilla with a high back is 105 cm tall and provides higher back support, which you’ll notice when you linger at the table. The Vanilla with a low back is 92 cm tall, is less conspicuous, and keeps the view unobstructed in an open living space. The seat height, seating comfort, and bases are the same for both; the high-back version costs €58 more per chair.

The Stressless Vanilla has a seat height of 48 cm and is available in size L. With a high back, it is 105 cm high and 63 cm deep; with a low back, it is 92 cm high and 62 cm deep. The width ranges from 50 to 57 cm without armrests, depending on the base, and is 58 cm with armrests.

It will fit under a standard dining table that is 74 to 75 cm high. The armrests on a Stressless dining chair are no more than 69 to 70 cm high, so they slide under the tabletop. Be careful with built-in desks or work tables: they’re often only 70 cm high. With armrests, the Vanilla is 58 cm wide.

The Vanilla and the Mint have the same dimensions, the same bases, and the same prices. The difference lies in the shape: the Vanilla has a modern back that widens toward the top, while the Mint has a wraparound back with a horizontal stitching line. Yes, the Stressless Vanilla rotates 360 degrees on the D350 base. By default, it rotates freely; with the auto-return option, the chair automatically rotates back toward the table after you stand up. That option costs €63 per chair. The other bases—D100, D200, D300, and D400—do not rotate.

Yes. In the configurator on this page, you can choose the model, base, upholstery, color, and number of chairs, and place your order online right away. Each chair is made for you in Norway, with a delivery time of 8 to 10 weeks. If you want chairs in different colors, please configure them one by one.

Our consultants recommend leather for households with children or grandchildren, particularly Paloma or Velaro. Both are durable and easy to clean with a damp cloth, provided you treat the leather at least twice a year with a Stressless care kit. If you have cats or dogs, keep in mind that leather is more susceptible to scratches.

You receive a 2-year manufacturer’s warranty. In addition, Stressless offers a 10-year warranty on the chair’s mechanism, the Balance&Glide™ system, and the metal frame. Damage to leather, fabric, or wood is not covered. Repairs are performed by our own team.

Yes. The Vanilla is also available as a home office chair on a star base with five casters, starting at €638. This way, you’ll have the same adaptive seating comfort at your desk as you do at the table. For eight hours a day of intensive computer work, we recommend a full-featured ergonomic office chair.
